Research shows that once we hit the age of 30, our metabolism begins to slow down significantly. On average, we gain 10lbs for every decade of life, or 1-2lbs a year until we hit the age of 65. Some women have been shown to increase these numbers, and struggle more with weight gain during their menopausal years, due to a shift in hormones. Roughly two out of three Americans are currently overweight, or 69%. Obesity is one of the leading causes of diabetes, heart disease, and currently equates for over 150 billion dollars a year in health care cost currently.
We offer a variety of weight loss options here at Rhoades Family Practice. Typically, insurance will not pay for anything that is weight loss related, but we work closely with several pharmacists to ensure we offer the most affordable pricing to our patients. We offer a variety of oral medications as well as injection.

Semaglutide is an injectable glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonist, a substance that initiates a physical response in the body, that is administered subcutaneously once weekly for weight loss. GLP-1 agonists are called incretin mimetics as they “mimic” their effect. Incretins are hormones released by the small intestine after eating to trigger insulin release and block sugar production.
In short, Semaglutide slows down how quickly food leaves your stomach, it controls gastric emptying, making you feel full faster and longer, curbing the normal desire to eat.
We allow your first visit in person and telemedicine visits monthly thereafter.
Why use a blended Semaglutide?
Several research studies note that Vitamin B12 aids in the treatment tolerance with GLP-1 agonists. Three of the most common adverse side effects of Semaglutide are nausea, fatigue, and hypophagia. All side effects have been shown to be significantly reduced when used in conjunction with B12.
Semaglutide and B12 clinical trials have shown an 18% body fat decrease in obese or overweight patients, whereas Semaglutide alone is only 15%. This medication has been proven to be well tolerated with minimal GI side effects.
What is NAD?
Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD+) is being touted as the “fountain of youth” among medical professionals, it is a critical coenzyme found in every cell in the body and is involved in hundreds of cellular bioenergetic processes. NAD+ has been shown to help with anti-aging effects, improve sleep, support detox, boot mental clarity, and reduce stress. NAD+ has been shown to correct autoimmune disorders, metabolic conditions, plays a key role in inflammation, and immunity. NAD+ also increases athletic performance and endurance. It has been shown to increase our body’s metabolism and provide increased energy levels. It has also been used in substance abuse and addiction treatment over the last several years and has had great results with patients suffering from benzodiazepine addiction. NAD+ has been shown to enhance anti-aging properties and increase our overall longevity.
Both of these medications are custom made for me by a compound pharmacy, and are not FDA approved.
